We have the scientific proof as well as existing and growing technology to make change in our industries that pollute. We need the leadership and our residents to make the choice for action together. Larimer County can be part of the climate crisis solution by updating building codes to reduce energy consumption in new construction and supporting the preservation and re-use of existing buildings instead of encouraging demolition and re-construction. This can greatly reduce our carbon footprint and the amount of waste going to the landfill.
It is imperative that Larimer County adopt oil and gas regulations that protect the health and wellness of our residents and our environment. I support strong rules that will protect our air and water quality. The county also needs to stand as a local leader in building collaborations to increase clean energy alternatives like solar, wind, and geo-thermal.
